Четверг. Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left (1969)

Удивительный альбом, который, к сожалению, мало кто слушал... Да и вообще, самого Ника Дрейка мало кто знает, но...

Five Leaves Left — дебютный альбом Ника Дрейка, вышедший в 1969 году. Диск занимает 283 место в списке 500 лучших альбомов журнала Rolling Stone. В 2005 году британский телеканал Channel 4 поместил альбом на 85 место в своём списке 100 величайших альбомов всех времён.

Сегодня послушаем "Saturday Sun" - заключительный трек этого гениального альбома.

Название альбома — это предупредительная надпись ("Осталось пять листов") на рулоне папиросной бумаги фирмы RiZla+, означающая, что необходимо покупать новый рулон (обычно ими пользовались курильщики марихуаны, каковым был Ник). Он считал, что эта фраза звучит замечательно, хотя и не имеет какого-то особого смысла. С другой стороны, через пять лет эта фраза приобретёт другой, трагический и провидческий смысл: ведь в 1969 году Нику оставалось жить ровно пять лет.

Старый конь борозды не испортит. Что подтвердила культовая американская группа Sebadoh. После больше десяти лет молчания она выпустила действительно стоящий альбом и сегодняшняя песня "I Will" оттуда.

Пятница. The Beatles - Words Of Love (1964)

Иногда жизнь преподносит нам приятные сюрпризы. Вот и на этот раз мы имеем абсолютно новый клип на старую добрую битловскую песню.

"Words Of Love" - песня, написанная американским автором Бадди Холли и выпущенная им же в 1957 году, но The Beatles записали её в 1964 году и выпустили на прекрасном альбоме "Beatles for Sale".

Так что, всё новое - это хорошо забытое старое... кроме клипа, конечно.

Четверг. Girls - Album (2009)

Относительный свежий, но уже культовый альбом американского инди коллектива Girls, который уже прекратил своё существование.

Альбом снискал небывалый интерес у критиков и NME поместила его в список "500 лучших альбомов всех времен". Смесь практических всех роковых жанров плюс пронзительная лирика, вот всё что вам надо знать. Этот альбом надо слушать.

Сегодня послушаем песню "Lust For Life", которая и открывает этот гениальный альбом.

Среда. Royston Vasie - You Want It Now (2012)

Хотите услышать смесь Oasisа с Nirvanой, тогда слушайте новую американскую группу Royston Vasie. Ребята только начинают набирать обороты и уже выпустили свой дебютный лонгплей.

Сегодня слушаем "You Want It Now" - песню из их первого альбома.

Вторник. Black Sabbath - Iron Man (1971)

Стопроцентная классика хард-рока.

"Iron Man" — песня британской хэви-метал группы Black Sabbath, написанная в 1970 году (авторы — Осборн, Айомми, Батлер, Уорд) со второго студийного альбома 1971 года "Paranoid". Сингл "Iron Man" в США поднялся до #52 в Billboard Hot 100. Песня не звучала на радио, но приобрела культовый статус, который и обеспечил ей успех в чартах. Впоследствии трек "Iron Man" неоднократно переиздавался; вошёл в сборник We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll (1976), а также во многие последующие компиляции.
